What truly sets "For The Ages" apart is the sterling musicianship on display. The sheer sense of synergy between every performance helps ensure that every beautifully phrased guitar moment, groove-rich rhythmic flourish, inter-weaving synth texture, and vocal hook comes across with a deep sense of both purpose and meaning. The rhythmic interplay between the various elements of the arrangement is excellent, transitioning seamlessly between moments of well-placed intensity and delicate subtleties, creating a dynamic foundation that allows for experimentation. The creativity embedded in every layer of this composition is nothing short of astonishing. The transitions are not mere musical bridges but rather portals to alternate dimensions within the song's universe. Overall Impression
Having previously reviewed their dazzling masterclass in prog rock - "For The Ages", it's safe to say I was thoroughly looking forward to what The David Fisher Project's next creative offering, "Keep The Music Flowin'", would entail, and I was in no way disappointed. Whilst the aforementioned "For The Ages" offered listeners an authentic prog-rock experience, replete with continuously evolving textures, intriguing melodic explorations, and rhythmic complexity, "Keep The Music Flowin'" offers listeners an adrenaline shot of jazzy blues into the mix. This results in yet another dazzling piece of prog-rock-inspired sonic excitement that expands its boundaries even further with lashes of sultry sax flourishes and quirky blues elements. The David Fisher Project has conjured up another tantalizing tune that offers listeners a thoroughly upbeat listening experience that they'll want to revisit.
Strongest Point(s)
"Keep The Music Flowin'" serves as a shining example of songwriting versatility and The David Fisher Project demonstrates their genre-melding skills to marvelous effect. Whilst the track establishes a more straightforward blues-rock sound in its first half - a sound that's still overflowing with musicality and melodic exuberance may I add, the track's latter half manages to still retain a clear prog-rock influence, resulting in another fantastic example of the group's fascinating genre-fusing style. The performances, as I've come to expect from The David Fisher Project, are excellent, and between the wildly expressive brass elements, melody-rich guitar work, anthemic vocals, and groove-lathered rhythms, the performances are injected with both the necessary vibrancy and vigor needed to help keep listeners firmly invested in the music from start to finish, and thanks to the strong songwriting and momentum-filled arrangement, you're never short of excitement throughout.#
